His family history included service to Starfleet, including serving on a ship, as captain, first officer, doctor, engineer etc.
There were Mundy's involved in the early stages of the United States development of its space exploration, from the Mercury program to Gemini, to Apollo, landing the moon, the Space Shuttle, to the International Space Station, the landing on Mars, the creation of Starfleet, the early NX series, and the ship's that followed.
The Perry line also included Ambassadors, Diplomats, and those that served behind the scenes.

Bryan Mundy excelled at school, often being the best in whatever class he was in. His GPA never dipped below 3.7.

Because he was able to skip many grades, he graduated primary school at the age of 10, junior and high school by 15, and college by 20.

In school, as well as University's, he was always the one that other students, and teachers, came to for help involving a bully.

He was strong, but also smart. He tutored all those who had failing grades. He liked the interaction between him and those he taught.

He decided to follow the family history and applied and was accepted at Starfleet Academy as a cadet.

Arriving at the Academy, he passed all his entrance exams, physicals and mentals evaluations and was accepted.

He chose Security as his major and Command as his minor.

His first year he was just finding his bearings, which resulted in him being in the top 20% of his class, a personal disappointment to him.

His 2nd, 3rd and 4th year, he placed in the top 5 of his classes, with the senior year being named Valedictorian of his graduating class.

During his time at the Academy, he joined - the wrestling team. the track team, the chess team, the archery team and the basketball teams.
