Posting Style and Guidelines

This is the general posting style and guidelines for the USS Athena
1. Most missions will be given an approximate number of days that it will take place in game. This is typically placed in the mission description and will be announced at the start of a mission. Usually a smull chunk of time is open at a time for posting in to keep the timeline relatively in order. For example, days 1-3 might be open out of a 20 day mission Time reference is done as MDx, time in 24 hours. Example, MD1, 09:00.
2. Posts are done in past tense. Bob said, "Yes" versus Bob says, "Yes".
3. Talking is represented by standard quotation marks. Mary exclaimed, "NO!"
4. Thinking to oneself is represented by single quotes. 'That's odd', the security officer thought.
5. Telepathic communication is represented by the tilde. ~The next card will be an ace of spades~, Jonas telepathically thought to his sister.
6. Out of character notation. Sometimes we all have questions in a post or want to float an idea that is coming from us as a player and not as a character. Before writing the bit, put an OOC: Example, OOC: I love eating popcorn while watching Wrath of Khan.
7. If you need input from a person, put it in the form of *Tag* Tom, Jerry, Daffy. It is important when you go into a post that you look for any tags addressed to you to keep things going. Also, if someone you tagged hasn't replied in a while, do feel free to put a polite OOC note at the bottom of the post or send a dm.
8. The sim is rated 18+, but that is not so we write a bloody, porn, slasher movie. It is so some more adult situations. Always remember to keep things tasteful and respectful. Always work with the person/people you are writing with just to make sure you don't go too far with a topic.
9. Spellcheck as much as possible.
If you have any questions, please reach out to the Captain or XO.
