Mission: Things Past
Location: Starbase
Timeline: prior to stationing on the USS Athena

Hurin and Eimi had gone their separate ways. He was off to a shuttle to rendezvous with his next appointment and she now stood staring at the Athena, a copy of the blueprint schematic on a padd in her hands. She would glance at the ship and then at the padd. She oriented herself with it and the ship.

An attack cruiser, 415 meters in length Eimi noted that she wasn't the largest but certainly not the smallest ship in the fleet. She had 15 decks per Daystrom but it seemed as if there was conflicting information from the original or prototype USS Prometheus to the USS Athena and that there might actually be 14 decks instead. Something she might have to clarify by sending Chiaki though the ship after she fixed its wings. The beetle could scan for all sorts of things, actually anything used by an actual tricorder could that they used in the Fleet. It was a useful small gadget when someone, rather something had to go into a space that was not breathable or safe for a humanoid. Eimi never took her beetle for granted as she used it more often, then not. It was always with her.

After standing there for a long time Eimi slid her padd into her bag and turned to head to the promenade or at least the shops section. Always on the outlook for odd things, gears, wire and the like. Eimi steered clear of the groups of people and in particular the groups that could be thugs. Every port had them and this starbase seemed to be no exception. If caused a brief moment of anxiety but she stepped out of the flow of traffic and focused on something in front of her and took deep breaths and calmed herself.

"That is an interesting find." A humanoid said as Eimi actually saw what she now stared at. "It was gotten from Walkabout Nation." The voice rambled on in a odd slurping, nasal sound. It sort of rolled Eimi's stomach as the humanoid sucked in a gurgling sound of air, almost as if it were choking.

"I'm sure that to someone it would be of great interest. Do you perhaps have anything that is made of metal, gears, springs, wire and the like?" Eimi queried as she moved slowly down the stall that the humanoid had its wares on and continued to look at things. "More artificial, robot type product parts." Eimi paused as she spied a crate of sorts it various jumbled bits of this and that. She fingered through it thoughtfully. It was mostly odd shaped pieces of various metal items, hexagon in pattern, in a row. What would this be?" She tapped the hexagon shapes.

"I was told that it was some sort of...." gurgles came from the humanoid and caused Eimi a bit of alarm as she thought the humanoid would choke to death before it snorted and started to speak again "colored light source that humans used by their computer stations for recreational purposes during the twenty first century. "I see." Eimi nodded and stepped further down the table to another crate that had a piece of a metal bar or pipe sticking out of it. She tilted her head as she peered into it. She didn't see anything that would be of use. "Thank you for your time." Eimi stated as she walked away from the stall further down the promenade to a place that had multi-colored bright metal squares and rectangles leaning against a stall.

One Eimi saw had a red and blue masked human shaped male with his hands at a particular odd angle with what looked like spun spider goo coming from them. She paused as she saw some unusual shaped small items on the stalls top. Some looked like metal dragon fly wings. "Now if you only have one that will fit my little guy."

"Scuse me, what 'xactly are you 'ferring too?" The tall, thin old wrinkled face asked as he peered down at the items on the stall. His shaky hands reached up and flipped back some strange magnifying lenses away from his eyes. His bright yet watery blue eyes peered down at her. "I have other items like this." He tapped the wing. "Different shapes, sizes. "Give a moment. K?"

Eimi glanced up and nodded "I will wait." As he wandered around peering into a crate, a barrel and hmmm an hawed over various items that he searched through with is too skinny arms, back and shaky hands. Eimi made a decision at that moment to purchase just about anything he brought to her to look at. He looked as if he hadn't eaten in a very long time. That or at least not regularly.

"Where... oh where could ya be." The man words had a singing lilt to them "There ya be, there ya be." He sang and then bent down and grabbed a small box. He grunted loudly as he tugged the box up as he stood. His joints popped loudly as he straightened. "Found 'er, right 'ere" He turned and almost knocked over most of his other inventory as the box whirled around and against items. For a older gent the guy seemed to move quickly, his joints popped with each step. He shoved a bunch of stuff out of the way as the box was pushed across the stall top at Eimi. "Look see, if something ain't what ya be needin."

Eimi picked up a stacked spring of sorts. It was loose and wiggled strangely as she set it aside in made a rainbow curved shape as it gently swayed back and forth. She tugged the box a bit closer to peer further into it. More springs and a few other dragonfly type wings. Which she drew gently out and set aside two pairs that matched one another. She would take those just because they matched. Their design was intricate to her eyes. What Eimi would use them for she did not yet have a clue but she would one day.

"Seein' a thing at all there young'n?" The older gent asked. Eimi glanced up to meet his eyes and then back into the box as he continued "Keep yer look seein, bound to be some mores of stuffs."
